Our commitment to excellence ensured the structural integrity of this iconic racing facility.

Project Milestones: Local Investment and Economic Impact

The local South Australian civil construction company, Lucas, was awarded the contract for this ambitious project, resulting in the creation of approximately 140 new jobs during the twelve-month construction phase. This endeavor is part of the Peregrine Corporation’s $100 million investment, destined to transform The Bend Motorsport Park into an iconic sporting facility for South Australia, welcoming local, national, and international motorsport events.

“The Bend’s racing circuit is a world-class gem, drawing inspiration from renowned circuits like Spa, Red Bull Ring, Paul Ricard, Nurburgring, Suzuka, and Silverstone,” said Dr. Sam Shahin, Executive Director of the Peregrine Corporation. The circuit boasts 35 turns, a one-kilometer long main straight, and a 15-meter width, facilitating thrilling side-by-side racing action and top speeds approaching 300 kmph.

While hosting top-level racing events, the circuit also opens its doors to the public for a unique driving experience in their own cars or specially prepared track cars.

The State Government invested $7.5 million in this project, with Premier Jay Weatherill highlighting its potential as a significant tourist attraction and economic contributor. Independent studies project that The Bend Motorsport Park will create 1,631 full-time jobs, add $236 million annually to the Gross State Product, and draw an additional 339,000 visitors to the region.

Future Phases: Expanding the Vision

The Bend Motorsport Park’s comprehensive plan includes a pit building, hotel, conference facilities, a drift and karting circuit, an international Group 1 dragway, driver training facilities, an airstrip, a 4WD adventure park, and an off-road facility.

While the racing circuit was completed by the end of 2017, the next phase of construction will see the pit building and surrounding infrastructure, creating an additional 300 jobs, with details to be announced soon.
